Travels of Osku

Art collaboration project between Korson Koulu in Vantaa, Finland and Sequoia High School in Redwood city, California has begun. 6th and 7th graders from Finland voted Osku -rabbit to become an exchange student and ambassador of Finland and to spend the school year 2011-2012 in Redwood city, California. Osku hopes to make a lot of new friends and to document the everyday life in America with lots of photographs. The project has been inspired by The Flat Stanley Project, Travelling gnome prank and by Arttu, all great examples of the importance of traveling and seeing new places.

Osku has travelled to Redwood city with art teacher Riikka Notkola from Korson koulu who met Mozy, the art teacher in Sequoia High School last year at SFMOMA, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Hopefully Osku gets to see SFMOMA as well later this year. And most of all, hopefully some brave soul from Sequoia High Shool will travel to Korson koulu as well. For the starters here are some pictures of OSKU in Finland with his friends who also were hoping to travel to California as well as pictures of the so very exciting trip to America!
