We love Osku! He is our dear friend who has had many great adventures this year. We are looking forward to next year and more fun with you and Osku!!!!

Happy Summer! While you are playing ice hockey we will be swimming, playing tennis, camping, playing BASEBALL, sleeping, and going to the beach to surf, play frisbee, and have bonfires with roasted marshmallows!!!!

Osku at the San Francisco Giants Game!

Osku went to see the 2010 World Series Winners last Friday.
He learned all about Baseball rules and even sung the national anthem with us!
He ate a bit too many garlic fries at the game and now his overalls smell like the the stadium. :)
The Giants won the game and Osku jumped out of his seat and cheered.

Osku at the Prom

Osku had a great time at Sequoia's Prom. The senior and junior dance at the end of the year is a celebration in which students dress fancy and dance. Osku had his own boutonniere flower picked for him. A beautiful pink rose. At the dance Osku got the chance to take pictures with a few Sequoia friends and he even hid for a while to enjoy his delicious cupcake... sneaky Osku.

Sauna

Finally I got the experience of some Finnish weekly traditions including going to Sauna thanks to Jassir from 6th grade! Their dog was a lot of fun too. The Finns seem to now how to relax.

Visiting Vantaa City Museum in April

I learned a lot about history of Vantaa city on  a museum visit with 6th graders. I loved that the museum docent let me try on a squirrel's fur that they used "like money" in the old days-for once I was warm. The name of the exhibition was "Our Story from Helsinge to Vantaa". "Helsinge" refers to our capital Helsinki nowadays and I learned that the city's history actually originates from my recent hometown Vantaa that is located just next to Helsinki

Here are the IB senior's finished exhibits! The show was a huge success, and Osku wanted to show you how well he did helping to hang the show.
